Lokar universal throttle cable and 71/72 pedal

Seeing what you guys think about this combo. The pedal end has a large fitting with a pin through it. I was thinking the the pedal I have I could cut a slit in it so I can slip the cable into the hole in the pedal and then put in that plastic cable piece to keep it centered etc. The only downside I can think of is having the end in front of the pedal arm. Hope this made sense.
