Fresh meat at the Salt Lake junk yard

4 freshly added 67-72's at the Tear a Part in Salt Lake City.

I took the tailgate from the step side already. The bed looks pretty nice.

Anyway, wanted to let you guys know so you can go get what you need

i'm guessing the neon green paint is around the rusted areas? i've never seen a yard do that, do you know why?

I don't think it has anything to do with that. It's probably a way for them to mark them in the holding area, so they know what row to place them. I've seen them spray the word "pimp" on the side too. Not sure what it means

Re: Fresh meat at the Salt Lake junk yard

Also, if those step fenders are as nice as they look (zero rust) and aren't full of bondo, they're easily worth $2-300 for the set, but judging by the cracked bondo on the bedside... they may be rusty and beat up?

It's not right, but at the same time, we really pick them over good, and the trucks live on.

This is a pic of what came in as a very clean looking driver.

And, after we had our way with it...

Hard to say. I didn't notice any rust, but I didn't take a real close look. It wouldn't surprise me if it had rust though, seeing as we are in a city named after Salt lol, but you never know.

I would rebuild those but then again I'm old enough to remember the time before planned obsolescence became the rule.

Trying to hook you up

They're an absolute pain in the ass to remove, but you could make some decent $ on those, but they must be solid. Everyone has rusty ones I was offered $600 for my 98% rust free 1967 fenders (couple dime sized holes in the front corners, that's it). I'm a pack rat, I should have taken it, but didn't want to let them go.

Maybe I can time this just right and get there by the time all that's left of the grey step side is the frame. I'd start right there.

Thanks, man. That's good to know. I bought the tailgate to resell it, and as soon as my wife saw it, she claimed it so she can make a coffee table with it lol.

The first thing I would have grabbed were those bumper guards.

I went back today and got a few odds and ends. I was going to take those bumper guards, but the chrome is peeling, there's rust, and there is a mounting hole on the top of each one. Do you think these are still worth anything?

You get the bumper guards and send them to me and I will promise you half of the profit I make on them.

Man, what a base, that must be an old parking lot. All the pick-a-parts around here have the 1"-2" blue chat rock. Murder on the back and knees to get something.
