Re: newer model HD hood on square?

You'd have a squarish cowl in the middle of your hood so it might look cool.

Think about cutting a thin intake vent like the new Camaros have at the bottom of the cowl...that would be interesting!

No idea, try to find a cheap vent on ebay and take it to your fab guy to see.

Can't imagine it would be alot to cut a vent in.

I don't think anyone has ever put that new style hood on a square. I'd like to see it if you do.

Re: newer model HD hood on square?

Most likely they'd have to take the original hood, then blend the skin from the newer hood into it.

I have seen a square body hood where someone raised the center portion to look like the newer trucks. There was a picture floating around here long ago. I actually think this would be a much easier to pull of, and it will turn out looking better just because you are simply extending the basic shape, rather than introducing newer lines and curves that may not mix will with the overall look of the truck.

Re: newer model HD hood on square?

You can get an aftermarket HD hood for around $160. I just bought one to do my tbss. I think it would look good on a square if done correctly. Post it over in the Photoshop section and see what they can do. Or just move this thread over.

That's cool! But it would look better if it was a little shorter...
