My new 67' long bed 1/2 ton 6 lug

I just picked up a 67' long bed off Craigslist last night. I NEED to do the front disc brake swap. After searching, my brain is frazzled......The truck is lowered now and I will be getting Mcgaughy's spindles. What I am looking for in here is if theres a list of Chevy parts for rotors, calipers, rubber hoses.

I also don't understand yet about why crossmembers are swapped, but I will keep looking.

I guess my main question is, can I get rotors, calipers from a newer disc brake truck without changing ball joints, tie rod ends and such??

Yes and no. It you get 71/72 spindles you will need 71/72 lower ball joints and 71/72 tie rod ends to bolt up to the spindles. Everything else swaps over. You will need new brake hoses and you'll want to buy a disc/drum master cyljnder and prop. Valve. A lot of the "wear" items usually need to be replaced anyway, so many people go witb the aftermarket kits.

Edit... reread and saw you want to use mcnaughty spindles. If you get their "67-70" disc spindles all your ball joints etc should bolt up... you may want to check with them for sure. Then you should be able to go to any parts house and gets all the parts for a 71/72 truck and it "should" all bolt right on.

Some people do the crossmember swap because it all unbolts and bolts back on in one big piece as opposed to tearing the whole thing apart.

If you decide to do a kit this seems like a nice one.

Thank you both. Seems like a kit will be the way to go.

Get the CPP kit that comes with drop spindles. Easy. Complete kit. Either that or go to a wrecker and take a whole front crossmemeber with control arms and brakes and everything and swap it onto your truck. They just be sure to buy the drop spindles for the year of truck the crossmember is from.
