ECE 3/5 drop, not low enough so HERE's what I DID

Hey guys, So i previously lowered my stepside with the EC 3/5" drop
with 2" drop spindles, and 1" drop springs, and 5" lowering leaf springs.
I wasn't happy with how high the front was still, looked pretty much stock
to someone who doesn't know much about these BOSS old trucks. And looking at some of your guy's rides, i wanted it lower.
So i decided to lower it some more!!!!
i should have invested in drop springs but decided to cut a coil to see how it
looks first.. here's how i did it

HOW I DID it, 45 mins of my time...
1 - put the front of the truck on jack stands (so tires are off the ground),
2- put jack under lower control arm
3- loosen up the castle nut for ball joint
4 - dis connect the front shocks
5- jack up the lower control arm
6- take off the castle nut that was loosened up,
7- lower jack until the spring falls out
8- cut the spring.. 1 coil= approx. 1.5"-2" drop

here is a picture before with the 3/5" drop

And here Is a Picture with a coil cut off, looks like maybe a 4.5" drop??

What do you guys think??

Thanks guys! So maybe lower?? I have long tube headers, so
If I drop it lower, I feel I won't be able to go over speed bumps at all..

I had long tube headers before also so I feel your pain. Get some flow tech shorties and you'll gain about 4" ground clearance.

I think it looks great! Did you flip the rear axle too or just change springs?

Re: ECE 3/5 drop, not low enough so HERE's what I DID

I wouldn't cut another round off the front, just sayin.. if you 'Dukes of Hazzard' a rail road track or something and the spring reaches it's peak extended length it could rattle around in the spring pocket or even come completely out. I think it looks great like it is... I may add another 1" block in the rear but I'd leave the front. Just me.

You could have just got a car that sits really low....

Looks great with the side exhaust and tires you have on it.

I know it sucks! If I go lower I'd have less than an inch before my headers scrape the ground! I would go with shortys but I like the torque long tubes give over the shortys haha!
