Carb/starting question...

Ok, i have a 350 sbc. edelbrock performer intake, performer cam, and edelbrock 600 carb. starts great cold, if you shut it off when warm, it will fire right back up if you do it within 2-3 min. but after being warm, then off for like 5-15minuites, it cranks over allot to get going, like its flooded or something,,, found some info saying that i need a carb spacer? any one have this happen and find the cure? if it is a spacer i need.. what one? thanks!

Ah, sounds like the notorious Edelbrock problem.

Ever pour water onto a boiling pot? Evaporates instantly. Now imagine pouring fuel onto a hot carb. This is what is happening. Your carb is really hot and after 15 minutes the fuel boils out (this is especially true on Edelbrocks because the fuel bowls are directly over the intake). Then you have cold fuel that is pumped into the (already hot) bowls and it evaporates instantly.

Had this problem. Used a nitrile (I believe) spacer made by Edelbrock. Works fine now.
