Fall Guy truck??

Anyone know what kind of truck they used in the TV series The Fall Guy, starring Lee Majors? I remember him driving a truck, but danged if I remember what it was. I guess I'm getting old.

I had a guy from Germany email me asking about it.

Hi swerve been a long time. I think the most well known truck he drove was a two tone brown 84 or 85 GMC Sierra 4X4, with the dual rectangle headlights. There's a toy model of it that you could buy. But since the show ran from about 81 to 86, they probably went through a bunch of trucks, and in some episiodes the truck definetly was an earlier vintange with round headlights.

This is the story of one of America's great unsung heroes. I mean you've seen him, but you never knew who he was, you've cheered for him and cried for him, women have wanted to die for him, did he ever get any credit? Or the girl? No! He was what we call a Stuntman. And the reason I'm talking so fondly about him is, well because it's me: Colt Seavers. Anyway Picture work isn't wall to wall employment, so maybe you wonder how a guy keeps his head together. Well one way is to wait by the phone. And wait and wait. The other is to take an occasional job for the court system of the United States of America, where a man is considered innocent until proving guilty. Unfortunatly sometimes a lot of these people get out of jail on what we call bail, and run like hell. That's where I come in. I sometimes pick up rent money trying to find them and bring them back to justice.

Well
I'm not the kind to kiss and tell

but I've been seen with Farah.

I've never been with anything less than a nine

so fine.

I've been on fire with Sally Fields

gone fast with a girl named Bo

but somehow they just don't end up as mine.

It's a death-defying life I lead

I take my chances.

I die for a livin' in the movies and T.V.

but the hardest thing I ever do

is watch my leadin' ladies

kiss some other guy

while I'm bandagin' my knees.

I might fall from a tall building

I might roll a brand-new car

'cause I'm the unknown stuntman

that made Redford such a star.

I've never spent much time in school

but I taught ladies plenty.

It's true I hire my body out for pay (hey, hey).

I've gotten burned over Cheryl Tiegs

blown up for Raquel Welch

but when I end up in the hay it's only hay (hey, hey).

I might jump an open drawbridge

or Tarzan from a vine

'cause I'm the unknown stuntman

that makes Eastwood lookes so fine.

They'll never make me president

but I've got the best first ladies.

Some days I've got'em as far as the eye can see.

A morning dive with Jackie Smith

I crash in the night with Cheryl

but in the end they never stay with me.

I might fall from a tall building

so Burt Reynolds don't get hurt

I might leap a mighty canyon

so he can kiss and flirt.

While that smooth talker's kissin' my girl

I'm just kissin' dirt

yes I'm the lonely stuntman

that made a lover out for Burt.

Yes I do need help

Why couldn't they land the truck on the Porche? It would make for a softer landing.

The truck in the picture is a 1980 GMC 3/4 ton Sierra Classic... Its got the same front end as my truck, and it is the only one that I know of with a similar front end.

The truck model went from a 1979 GMC to 1986 3/4 ton 2500 longbed models, the GMC trucks was Sierra Grande and some Sierra Classic, in the Pilot "Fall Guy, Part 1 &2" the truck is a 1979 Sierra with round head lights, ( You can notice this in the opening credits when the truck jumps through the glass.)

Latter during the show run they went from round head lights to square head lights with the turn signals now in the front bumper, in the pilot episode Colt's truck doesn't have the hood decal on though, reason is the truck at that time was done being built so after that they finish it up by putting the hood logo on it.

the truck was a 4x4 with a 4 inch lift under it.

They went through alot of '70s an '80's models 1/2 ton to 3/4 ton trucks for the show.

Both Chevrolets and GMCs was stunt models for the show, they also used a short bed truck in the episode Trauma.

1'st show 11/4/1981 last show 5/2/1986

Fall guy

Hi all ,
I remember watching this show when I was 17 years old , I loved Colt Seavers's truck but I loved more that blonde , Heather Something. She was a chick , WOW !
I presume she still is , right ?
The scenario was really stupid , but I liked the cars in there...
Just as I loved to watch "Starsky & Hutch" , featuring the two macho-cops , just a shame they drove a Fa#t...

Mmmmmm, Heather Thomas! She was a cutie. Had a picture of her in a binkini on my wall when I was younger and watched the show. Think my wife might get mad if I had one now?

Found this info on it

Throughout the show, Colt drives a 2-tone brown GMC Sierra Classic 1500 4X4 made in 1984 (you can tell this by the headlight design...2 rectangular lights on-top of each other on left and right side). However, the year, as well as the model, of the truck are ever changing (you can tell this because the headlights are sometimes singular large round lights on each side which says it's between an 1980-83 truck). You can notice this in the opening credits when the truck jumps through the glass.

They even have toys of it

Yeah, I used to have a little Matchbox or Hot Wheels of that truck back in the eighties. It may even still be at my Mom's house cause my brother is twelve years younger than me and got all my old toys. The round headlights were only offered until 1980 by the way. (As far as I remember...)
