All you lowered GMC owners......

I know this has probably been discussed before...... but what is the lowest you can lower with leafs/shackles/flip kit/cnotch.... before the rear end housing touches the bed. I am trying to figure out a new combo for my truck with supplemental air bags for load leveling or convert to all Porterbuilt coil set-up Thanks in advance.

Re: All you lowered GMC owners......

The rear end will hit the bottom of the bed at the same height as a coil rear.

Re: All you lowered GMC owners......

About 7in, Id start to be concerned. It just depends if you plan to do any hauling with it, how you plan to drive it, etc.

I have a PB coil setup on my black truck (link in my signature) if you want to check it out.

Yeah, 7" is what I thought I remember some of the guys saying. I know every truck is different and whether it is a long or shorty too. I know I could do a flip kit and run my shackles and get 7", but I would have to get some factory height leafs. Mine are the ECE 4" drop...... or just bite the bullet and PB the whole damn rear end so I could bag it.

Re: All you lowered GMC owners......

To give you a visual, Two inches higher than this with a 235/75r15 tire
My rear diff is 2" into the floor.
Not sure how much it's lowered. Fender lip as at about 23.5" here

Re: All you lowered GMC owners......

I raised my front spring mounts to lower an extra inch. Left stock holes for adjustability.
