What part are you talking about. From the factory there were many variations of sheen depending on part, coating called out in the spec, and vendor. Take brackets for instance, vendor A would paint them, vendor B would dip them.

For any any black part under the hood or on the frame, drive train and suspension, I use a satin black chassis paint. If you use a flat black it will stain if you get oil or grease on it. Where a satin will have just enough gloss/sheen to it to not show the stains, and clean up easier.

Is this what you are looking for? I have seen a few people here use it, I think Rochlow is one that used it?

Re: what is the black (dull) paint from factory

The interior color -- like on dash panels -- is called India Black. The chassis stuff was painted satin black. It's a little duller than the semi-gloss black that Ford uses. [Which is what I used today repainting my battery bracket, since O'Reilly's didn't have the Duplicolor GM Satin Black, only the Ford Semi Gloss Black, and I didn't want to wait a week for them to restock it. Doesn't look too bad though.]
