Temporary heater core block off ???
Can I run a hose from the inlet manifold that normally goes to heater core directly to the heater hose inlet on the radiator to cut the heater core out of the circuit until I have a chance to replace it.
I cannot see why not but thought I should ask first.Seems easier than blocking off the radiator and the inlet manifold. |

Pipe plugs instead of hose barbs works as well.

Re: Temporary heater core block off ???
Only thing you mite run into is the inlet side of the heater core is 3/4 hose and outlet is 5/8. (Or the other way around)
I just did mine last week and used an old hose fitting ( the one that goes into the intake manifold) put the 5/8 hose on the hose end and the 3/4 hose on the threaded side (1/2 pipe) couple clamps instant hose adapter. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Temporary heater core block off ???
I've found that a good hose clamp can seal a 3/4 hose on a 5/8 fitting, they're not that far off.
Or, the other direction, I've found a little bit of heat, a little bit of lube, and some force can stretch a smaller 5/8 hose on a 3/4 fitting.
