has anyone used leaf spring friction liners?
I am assembling my new rear leaf springs on my 67 and i was wondering if it would be a good idea to use some leaf spring friction liners between them? I am not going to be towing anything just a cruiser. Would this be benificial or a waste of money. Rod.

I got some from speedway, comes in a roll. I put on my 70 jimmy. Was a pain to put together, but turned out nice, haven't drove yet, hopefully by end of summer.

Re: has anyone used leaf spring friction liners?
I replace the liners on all leaf springs. I have been using a blue plastic sheet to cut them out of using whats left of the originals for a pattern. The liners have held up well over the last 4 years.
Here is a picture of what they look like when installed new. Jim

Re: has anyone used leaf spring friction liners?
I thought the liners went from one end of the leaf to the other.

I have, Just a few weeks ago. Alot quieter than before. Not to bad to do. I have enough
left to do front and rear(if you have a 4x4). Ron

Re: has anyone used leaf spring friction liners?
I knew a guy in the mid 1970's that put them between the springs when he built hot rods and said they made things quieter.
I had forgot about it until you mentioned it in your post. I have never tried it though.

Re: has anyone used leaf spring friction liners?
So my top three leaves are held together with a clamp that can't be removed and is rivited I believe. Anyone else have this? I won't be able to get liners between them. I have 7 leaves so I will be able to get the rest on. Will this matter or would it not make sense to have liners on only half the leaves?
