Mufflers, what are you running?
I'm look at running the Super 44 Flowmasters on my 56 only because I've heard them in person and they have an amazing sound. But I'd like to hear from you guys and gals to see what you're using. There might be something from another company that I'm over looking that will make my truck perform and sound better. Video clips of yours running would be cool too.

Re: Mufflers, what are you running?
On my 6 I'm running a large 3 chamber MagnaFlow. They have different chamber designs than the FlowMasters I have always run. It sounds great on a 6

Glasspacks on my 59. Flowmasters on my Travelall and 78 GMC. I prefer the sound of the glasspacks, but I'm warming up to the flowmaster throaty sound. Sorry no video, I'm too technically challenged at this point.

Re: Mufflers, what are you running?
Hey Dubie, I am running the $29 mufflers from Jegs dumped in front of the rear axle. I will post up a video tonight of the sound. I like them, actually wish they were a bit louder but for the price you cant go wrong IMHO.

Re: Mufflers, what are you running?
My truck is nowhere close to being on the road yet, but when the time comes, I will be using Porter mufflers.

Here you go bro! My phone has pretty crappy audio, its because it was in my pocket collecting metal shavings the whole truck build!

Re: Mufflers, what are you running?
The truck sounds pretty damn good bud. Thanks for the video. After seeing your truck up close and personal like that, I'd be tossing a set of wide whites and some spider caps on it and call it done. Cool ht rod pickup man!

Re: Mufflers, what are you running?
454 pepped up and I am using 28" x 2 1/2"($30ea) glass packs, which were louder than I wanted. Then I added 18" glass packs back at the rear and that quieted it down. I only have about 500 miles on the engine and when the glass packs are broken in I will decide if I should leave it or change it.

Re: Mufflers, what are you running?
Dynomax Turbos 2-1/2" x longest they had (28"??) I have always ran them in about 20" on the Chevelle but wanted the truck a little quieter. They last about 4-5 years on a daily driver, condensation from short trips eats up the bottom.

Re: Mufflers, what are you running?
Thrush glasspacks on my 50 with a stock 307, tail pipes exit at the bumper. Sounds really mellow unless you stomp it, quiet on the highway.

Re: Mufflers, what are you running?
Headers off the 350 into 2" pipes, collected into a single large muffler, exits w/ 3" to chrome 3" turndown. Keeps fumes from creeping in my rear barn doors and I am not too worried about moisture.
