What is the year difference in these frames

They are both 70's SWB 4x4 frames. I noticed that they have different rear cab perches. Can anyone tell me what years they might be. The second one is a board members and I think it is a 79.

Re: What is the year difference in these frames

They used both styles of rear cab mounts almost all years 73-87. It really depends on the options (engine, trans, GVW, etc.) which one is used, so that alone does not help identify the year of the frame. From the shape of the mount holes they look like 73-80 frames.

Re: What is the year difference in these frames

Yeah that is probably correct on the years 73-80 since they both have the rounded frame ends on the front instead of the slash cut of the 80's frames. I didn't realize that they used both types of perches throughout. I am still learning all the differences on these trucks.

I end up welding it back up. I hope it holds. I just updated my build thread saying that I brought it home. Going to start putting parts back on it.
