Starter wiring

I'm in the process of installing a 21 cicuit EZ wiring harness. My 51 has a 327 sbc installed. I've got a question on the starter wiring. It has 3 terminals. The largest (top center) on the solenoid has the pas. battery cable attatched there. The wiring kit shows 2 other wires going to the solenoid. A red "power, solenoid" wire and a purple "ignition switch, starter" wire. The diagram supplied with the kit is not clear, which goes where? there are 2 other smaller terminal on the solenoid. one marked "s" and the other unmarked (or un readable). What do you think? I've got the HEI ingnition. No coil, no ballast resistor.

Re: Starter wiring

Atommik, I have mine wired like this I have big positive from battery to the top big lug, as well as the red solenoid wire from the harness. My purple wire goes to the same spot as in the picture.

Re: Starter wiring

SQRLNTS,

Perfect!! Exactly what I needed to see. That's how I hooked mine up and I was pretty sure it was right. Thanks for the fast confirmation!!
And to think I wasted 1/2 hour on google trying to find a good diagram...I should know better!
