Tailgate lock latch assembly
I recently bought a 1970 3-door Suburban. It was rusty but cheap. The guy selling it told me that he almost pulled off the latch assemble because they don't repop them and originals are scarce. He told me they are selling them for $800-1500.
Is this true? It seems like a little unreal. Thats more than I paid for the truck.

Re: Tailgate lock latch assembly
UHHH, I'll sell you one for 800.00. No I won't, I would feel like a real jerk if I did that!! Those prices are ridiculous. There isn't much on these things (save buddy buckets, tow hooks, speed warning dashes, shoulder belts, and a few other factory option things) that come anywhere near the price of 800.00. He was feeding you a line!
