A Pick up in The Back of a Pick up
I just bought a 57 Chev CAB.
I'm going to pick it up this weekend. It's a 3 + hour trip one way. Has anybody ever put a Tri Five cab in the back of a 2007 full size Chev truck or should I drag my car hauler down there?

Take wood to block it up above the wheel wells. You have about 49" flat space from well to well. Cab is probably too big to fit between them.

I got the 8"X8" blocks ready for the trip plus a bunch of short lengths of 2x4 for added insurance for step well clearance

Re: A Pick up in The Back of a Pick up
I personally would bring about a 10-15 foot long trailer that is atleast 5 feet wide. set the cab in broadside, firewall and backwall facing the sides of the trailer. If all you have is the car hualer, take that. Would be lower to the ground, easier to load and unload (especially by yourself), and you can haul any ohter projects that follow you home! Let us know!
BTW, take a picture of it loaded whichever you decide to go with.

Trailer it, Don't risk damage to your truck.

Re: A Pick up in The Back of a Pick up
This worked for me. I did this about 10-12 years ago before I had a trailer. If I didn't have a trailer now, I would do it this way again. I didn't damage anything, and I was able to unload it with an engine hoist. However this truck is quite a bit lower than yours

Re: A Pick up in The Back of a Pick up
I picked up my cab this weekend.
I loaded it on it's back in Mississauga (Where I bought it) and took it to the hotel in Toronto to load it properly for the long trip home the next day.

Re: A Pick up in The Back of a Pick up
Good choice, I hardly use my bed for anything large anymore, I have a small utility trailer, let the trailer get damaged! Looks like a pretty decent cab for your neck of the woods.
