Re: Drip Rails?????

Personally.... I don't like anything that takes character away. These old trucks have a certain look to them, and shaving drip rails and door handles, smoothing tailgates, etc takes away the unique features that make them what they are.

That said though, it's your truck and if you like it better with no eyebrows, by all means shave them off!

Re: Drip Rails?????

I prefer the look with them off, but did appreciate the function, especially in the rain.

Edit: my 73 never had em, just showing how one looks without.

that being said.. both my 73 and my 84 dont have them..

tho my 84 had screw on drip rails.. and by the horrible body work on the rest of the truck that the po's did im starting to thing my cab might be an early one... as who ever did the shave did it well.. no bondo etc nadda.

Re: Drip Rails?????

Some trucks they have to tighten up the top of the door gap when you take them off.

Mine were PO installed ('73), one rainstorm and they went back on.

Re: Drip Rails?????

I think they look better off. I have had a few without and as long as your door weatherstrip is good they dont leak. When you open the door you still get wet with or without them.
