350 cid timming

I had some problems, been away for awhile, I'm glad to be back.
I'm sure that this has been covered numerous times but:
Timing my 350
Pretty much stock engine that I built about 15 years ago, has no miles on it.
It has an TRW RV cam (what ever that is)
I just got my cameo on the road (Photos to follow)
Right now I have the timing set at 8 degrees initial, hook it up to intake and it goes to 24. Total is about 35.
Question:
Ported or manifold vacuum and what initial and total timing would you suggest.
It is just a cruiser.
Thank you
Ed

Re: 350 cid timming

set your timing without using vacuum advance...

set your total... dont really worry about initial ( i mean getting 34-36 etc total is a lot more important than 6-12 initial), plus in your van advance when you're done.
