Shock Absorber Question
I am going be swapping the rear end in my truck and am wondering if I should change the shocks at the same time. I've had the truck ( 72 Chev longbox )since 2001 and the only thing wrong with the shocks that are on it now are the squished rubber bushings. The shocks dont leak and the truck sits as it should. Is it practical to put the same shocks back on the truck?

Re: Shock Absorber Question
I have seen shock companies state that shocks need to be change every 50K miles, but I would check them first. If you push the vehicle down on one of its corners and let go the suspension should travel up and and down far enough stop at ride height. If the corner you push rebounds up and back down past ride height without a positive stop it is time for new shocks.

Re: Shock Absorber Question
If you really want to you could buy polly replacement bushings for a few dollars, but as long as the mounts are in the same locations there is no need to get new ones.
