New side panels, carpet, stereo.

Took the top of the blazer 2 weeks ago. Dynamatted the bed, sides, and doors. Installed new carpet, custom side panels, and even a tailgate panel. Covered up the wheel wells with carpet as well.

Installed 4 6.5" speakers and a 10 inch sub.

Couldn't be happier with the results...

Re: New side panels, carpet, stereo.

A local shop in Modesto, CA custom made the rear panels. He actually suggested it to me.

He also made the side panels, and carpet from scratch. The side panels are far sturdier than the original/replicas...

Re: New side panels, carpet, stereo.

I paid him 900 bucks to do carpet, rear and side panels. He also stuck down dynamat on the floor, sides, and doors. And I think about 400 of that was to purchase the dynamat alone.

This guy has done several farm trucks and tractor seats for me over the years, and they always turn out amazing and cheap. Stuff I don't really care about always turns out better than new. He initially quoted me 100 bucks for the side panels alone, and I think he felt bad. I feel I got an amazing deal...

I'm not sure exactly what it was. It wasn't cardboard or plywood. It was about 1/4 inch thick with some padding.

The shop is Castillos upholstery in west Modesto. He's been there for years.

Where did you put the sub? I assume you also have an amp? Would be interested to see some pics of how you mounted all that up.

Thanks.

The sub is behind the back seat. The amp is under the passenger front seat. I'll try to post more pics tomorrow.

Re: New side panels, carpet, stereo.

Here's a couple pics of the sub box and amp. Nothing crazy. Also recently added a roll cage at the request of my pops, for the safety of his grand kids.

Can we see some overall side shots of the cage? Did you get it made locally?
Thanks

Re: New side panels, carpet, stereo.

I have the same exact color blazer I think. Called dark yellow. It's gettin the paint done right now. But I'm a little upset with paint guy. He said he couldn't get exact color. He matched it by using color chips of late model cars. Wound up with a color from a 92 ? ? Something. It looks pretty close and I'd never know if he didn't tell me. Just kinda bummed me out. Is it true he couldn't get the proper 72 color?
Yours says ochre but looks exactly same as my orig color 151910 dark yellow.
Do you know if your upholstery guy will sell the three panels. Sides and year for a price? Not sure if I'm allowed to ask that. But they are so expensive elsewhere. Thanks

Re: New side panels, carpet, stereo.

This blazer has its original paint, and I'm glad I didn't repaint. Kids climbing in and out over the sides, and it would drive me nuts if I spent a ton on fresh paint. But yes you can get the original colors.
