1962 C-10 stepside small window (Frame Off)

Well it has started. This is my first frame off rebuild/restore. Had a coworker that had this truck for 6 years in his garage and did not do much to it. For about for years I asked him when you going to sell me your truck. He always replied I am never going to sell it. He joined the Army and came home one weekend after his deployment called me up and asked if I still wanted the truck. A hour later it was in my drive way. Now the fun begins! Got her in the garage and tear down begins.

Looks like a great start!

I just got a 63 long step that I'm starting on. I'm currently in the parts gathering/trying to decide what I want it to be phase.

I have family in your area. Lake Hughes and Canyon Country. I lived in both also as a kid. We lived at Powerhouse 1 when I was born(near the dam that broke in the 20s).

Thats awesome Tommy. I actualy work for the U.S. Forest Service so I am very familiar with those areas. Love the fleetside Jmo. I am actualy thinking of swaping beds. If I can find the right deal.

I stumbled onto a fleet side for free and everyone talked me out of it. The long bed step side is growing on me and I love the trucks from the 50s so I think I will keep the step. I might go shortbed eventually.

We pulled the engine in 2 hours with 2 trips to Home Depot. Old chain looked a little scary so opted to buy a new one. Everything was drained 2 weeks prior and the front end was torn down. Second trip to the Depot was because I couldn’t find great bolts to plug it to the stand.

I had a little energy for some polishing. Love Mothers products. Here are some pics of the grille I had chromed. It had a few good dings, but the shop did an awesome job.
