Window regulator install
Hey all,
Fitted a window regulator repair kit today and had a little trouble re installing the regulator. Obviously everything is a little difficult when you have to work through a small hole at the bottom of the door. I think I'm doing something wrong with the bottom of the right hand scissor arm. Is there a fixed channel inside the door that the bottom right scissor roller fits into? See loose scissor arm, bottom right side in the pics - not sure where this end goes. Need x-ray pic of a window regulator fitted up in position!! Ha ha. Any tips or tricks to fitting would be greatly appreciated. Re: Window regulator install
Dodger- there is a track that the roller fits into. It's about 8" long runs horizontal and sits below the top access hole just below the mounting nuts for the arm rest. If you reach In thru the upper access hole you can feel it. A mirror and flashlight might make it easier to see.

Re: Window regulator install
I think that one on the lower right fits in the window bracket on the bottom of the window..

Re: Window regulator install
I just removed mine to convert to power windows. The pin on the lower right fits in a track just below the arm rest mounting holes. The picture shows the track that fits to the bottom of the glass

Re: Window regulator install
Although a second elbow in your arm would come in real handy it isn't that hard to put in.
Don't forget to lube the tracks but I'd suggest putting a dab of grease on your finger and put it in the groove in the track after you have it all together. I think the procedure that worked for me was to put the window in and hold it up with something while you put the two rollers in it and put the roller in the track on the back side of the door panel. The put the crank handle though the hole and bolt it up.

Re: Window regulator install
Cheers guys,
Got it to fit. Had the scissors the wrong way around. The one that has the loose end at the bottom right in the photo actually swaps around so that it goes into the track fitted to the inside of the door. Basically bottom left as it sits in the photo. I haven't lubed the track yet. Any suggestions on what to lube it with and do I just do that one roller or also the rollers in the track that the bottom of the window bolts to. I'm guessing yes.
