Can you help id this transmission??
Hey guys. Just went and bought a 70 GMC swb to part out. The owner kept talking about the 4 speed transmission. I thought, yeah, a 3 speed with reverse. I get there and see the three shifter linkages. I think, yeah, a granny low four speed. After closer inspection, it has a super short throw and I am starting to think it might be worth checking into a little closer. I know the pics suck, it is still in the truck. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Fred.

Re: Can you help id this transmission??
I think it is a Saginaw 4 speed since it has the reverse lever on the cover with the other two forward levers. Take a look here and compare. http://www.nastyz28.com/chevy-manual...tification.php

Yep it's a Saginaw most of those were used in Camaros, but quite a few are also found in vegas and other intermediate cars in the seventies
