3/4 ton 8 lug wheel options
Looking for new wheels/tires for my pick up. 57 3/4 ton. I tried on some 235/70/16 but the 16 inch rim hits the radius turning rod joint thing when i turn the wheels.
What are some wheels that will work on my 3/4 ton 8/6.5 lug? Show some pictures too if you have them |

Re: 3/4 ton 8 lug wheel options
I have a 1950 3600 so have been researching my guts out on wheel options as well.
Not sure on your measurements exactly but I have worked out that the most important measurement is the back spacing on a wheel or the depth of the "dish" behind the wheel. I have roughly figured that if I stick to around 3.5 inch back spacing it should not interfere with anything. This is of course based on my measurement so hope it helps. From memory Wheel Vintiques do a nice 8 lug with suitable backspacing. The only suitable rims I have been able to find both her in Australia and online elsewhere are 16s which I'm more than happy with. The rims I have on now, have a spacing plate that sits between the drum and wheel to prevent rubbing because the backspace is too big. I don't particularly want to keep running that set up so i will change them over soon. Another option to consider though. Posted via Mobile Device Last edited by Dodger; 05-01-2013 at 06:35 AM. |

Re: 3/4 ton 8 lug wheel options
With updated tie rod ends and a small spacer (1/2"), my findings are that a standard wheel off a mid 80's 3/4 ton truck will bolt right up with no issues.

You will then need to press out the old ball joints out of the steering arms and ream to match new modern tie rod ends. |
