Painting Parts?
So I am looking at my truck and now that I have it driving I know there are many things I will be taking out and replacing parts over time. What is oging to be my best bet for painting parts?
At some point in the next couple years (maybe sooner) I plan on sending it off to a body shop and painting everything. In the mean time to I rattle can paint things as I have them off and clean? For example I just did the rear diff cover. Painted it, but what about everything else? Will painting it make more work for the big guys?

Re: Painting Parts?
I'd just use rattle cans, that's what I did on my truck

Re: Painting Parts?
I'm going through the process of blasting and painting bracketry, pulleys, etc. now.
I've also got a cabinet oven to bake the parts in after paint. Almost all the aresol paints are an enamel, so baking them will provide a little more durability. The tough part is going through enough cans to find a sheen you can live with long term. For black, I ended up with a Krylon Industrial semi-flat. As close to factory after bake that I could find. Remember, most of this was either dipped or sprayed in bulk from the factory. Posted via Mobile Device
