shifter boot?

Hello

I'm working on swapping my th400 for a sm465. I bought a parts truck (86 GMC 3500) so I could get everything at one time. But decided to hit up the junk yards for the trans hump. So I didn't have to cut up the body on the parts truck. Anyway the hump is different from the one in the GMC. And the shift boot doesn't seem to mount flat. So is there a difference between the square shift boot vs. the round style?
