What differential do I have
Hello all,
I have a mistery on my hands that no one seems to be able to solve. So, I thought I'd try here. I appreciate any info. Thanks The Truck: 1963 GMC C1000 Differential cover: 10 Bolt (3 inches from bottom bolt to next bolt in line) Gear Ratio: 3.90:1 Ring gear dia: around 9" (little rough measuring with a tape measure) Last edited by Mr_B; 04-29-2013 at 06:43 PM. Re: What differential do I have
Top right hand side of axle housing will have series of letters / numbers, that will tell us what it is......

Re: What differential do I have
Rear diff cover looks like a Dana 35 rear end. Thats what our 61 has in it.

Re: What differential do I have
Yes that rear plug is where you fill the differential with gear oil. The bottom of the fill hole is the proper level. And I agree with j.kirn, that is an Eaton HO32 differential.

Re: What differential do I have
Thanks Capt Fab. Looking his pics I see some differences. Ours has studs with nuts to hold the cover on. His has botls. Thanks for the info on the plug to fill the level. I have tried removing our plug with no luck. Its most likely been on since 61.
