VIN assembly plant ?.....

The 75 I plan on working on for my first truck is making me wonder, the assembly plant "letter" in the VIN is not a letter. It is 1. What plant would the truck have been made at? According to LMC, the only letters used are A,B,F,J,S,V,Z. I'm just curious as to where it was made. Thanks guys.
would it be oshawa? it has us gauges... I noticed the 67-72s had 1 and it was oshawa...

Re: VIN assembly plant ?.....

Canadian Made....at Oshawa Ontario

With the autopact the big three could ship units back and forth without restriction

It still would have been a US spec truck if it was ordered by a US dealer

Agree. When I built these trucks I supported Flint, Oshawa, Pontiac, FT Wayne, St Louis and Janesville.

My '74 Chevelle, which my dad ordered for my mom to drive (and which I still have), was built in Oshawa and delivered directly to Bob Uptegraff Chevrolet in Davison, Michigan.

Re: VIN assembly plant ?.....

That makes sense, I never thought of the dealers ordering them. Thanks for the info!
