wont fire with ne plug wires... help!

i installed some new 8mm plug wires on my 327 today and now it wont fire, i have checked the order time and time again and it is correct, engine will turn over great but will not fire, could i have fired the coil?

have you checked to see if you are getting spark at all out of the boots? If not, check coil.

havent checked that yet. it ran fine before i replaced them but the wires were in bad shape, i did them one by one trying to keep the order rite and it fired but ran like crap. i checked the order and had to swap a few but now nothing, it is and HEI if that helps

Make sure your spark plugs are dry The same thing happen to me. My spark plugs were too wet and weren't firing I have a spark plug blaster so I clean all the fuel off of them and it started right up. Hope it helps

i have found that when tryin to check for proper sparkplug order it is best to remove all of them and start new with a service manual in hand and install them again one at a time/// i have found lookin at them and checkin just gave me a headache and accomplishid little, i wood keeep starin and not seein

perhaps when you were fooling with the wires you pulled the coil wire from the cap chech it too make sure you got contact

on another note my kid just put wires on his truck and a very short trip later the coil went bad...i didnt understand it but it happened....another coil an it ran great?????

Yeah the little spring that goes through the rubber piece was not in correctly and sort of melted into the side of the rubber. Wasn't hard to replace just 3 screws and then four.. could also be the module inside the dizzy

Have someone crank it while you run a timing light, and see where # 1 fires on the damper. Also, pull the cap with # 1 at TDC and see where the rotor is aimed. HEI's are nice, 'cause you can set up the cables from wherever #1 is. Hope you sort it out, it sucks to have a machine ready to go, and it won't go!
