Steering column grease
I'm in the process of rebuilding a non-tilt steering column for my '71, and I need to know what parts need greased inside of the column, and what type of grease is suitable for this. I know that obviously parts that move need greased, but everything was pretty much dry when I disassembled it. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I did this a couple weeks ago. I did the top and bottom bearings of my non-tilt column. The grease in mine was completely dried up from sitting for way to many years. A quick trip through the solvent tank and they cleaned right up. I repacked them with normal wheel bearing grease. Not sure if that was the right kind of grease, but it is certainly better than it was before.

Ive read on here to douse the column in white lithium grease spray.

I cleaned the shaft out of all the old, dried up grease and I also used a thin layer of wheel bearing grease. Here in Texas we have some really hot summer (100 plus) days for weeks on end and I didn't want grease to drip down the shaft.
