Seat Runner Adaptor or fitment

Hey,

I am fitting Commodore Front Buckets to my 49 4400. Our Commodore (New Chev SS) are also the same as the pontiac G8. The factory seat runners are different heights lh to rh and also there is only bolt holes in the rear. Has anyone fitted late model buckets to there truck if so what did you do with the runners (Rails).

made measurments and cut as needed to fit - measure ALOT cut a little at at time till you have desired hight and width

It's really going to vary on the seat and what it is going into.
That's why they it custom....

I built mine out of square tubing and welded. Not too hard to do, just takes time.

not sure what your asking, every seat is different and designed to be bolted to the floor of the designed vehicle
most will sit too low in a tf truck without building a pedestal under them
bolt some angle or sq tube down to the floor, set the seat on something to get it the right height
and start cutting and welding

every build in this forum has had to do this unless they're running strock seats
truk has 07 fusion seats in it, i bolted down angle, set the new seat on wood to get the right height and look
started welding/fabricating and pulled it out finished welding and reinforcing
of course making them look good is another process

use the original seat supports as they are thicker to hold the seat
when i bolted them in i used a 2x3 flat plate on the bottom of the floor to prevent seat tear out in the event of a crash

I agree, all seats are going to have different mounts. I used seats that had even mounts in the back but the fronts were staggerd because of the hump. I cut the front 'feet' off and turned them around so that I could get all four on the same plain and then built a box frame.

I think the guys did a great job of explaining that every set of seats has it's own installation efforts.

The only thing I will add is that some passenger car bucket seats have leanbacks that are either too thick or angle back too much to fit in a truck cab properly. You can notice that the seats in the truck that OrrieG showed have seat backs that sit pretty well upright allowing the seat to get closer to the back wall of the cab.
