Today I changed out my shocks because every bump I would hit, the truck would slam on the bump stops. I thought getting better shocks would help solve that problem, it slightly did but the bump stops are still getting hit. With only a two inch drop I wouldn't think that would be a problem. Anybody know anything else I can try rather than shaving off the bump stops?

I'm guessing you have lowered coils or cut springs?

That doesn't seem right, but I have no experience with lowering coils. I know cutting coils mess the spring rate up. But that's not your issue.
I have 2.5" spindles and it rides like stock.

Don't know if it'll help, but I cut 1 coil off my stock springs, with a 2.5 drop spindle....then we cut the entire bump stop mount. I have 20" wheels. Every once in awhile when I did a pothole too hard I rub the top of the inner wheel well. I never have "bottomed out".

the stock coils and most drop coils are just too soft for these nose heave trucks.

You sure its the bump stops not the shocks bottoming out?

yeah it's the bump stops, the metal was cleaned of all it's dirt from all the times it would hit.

Might have to put shorter bump stops in from what ive read. Or possibly a more stiff shock.

you might want to try cutting off half of your rubber bump stop and see if that cures it.

Its a simple matter of suspension travel, with a 2in drop you have to remove the bumpstop pad but you will still hit the top of the bumpstop mount on occasion. Your going to have to cut them out or put the stock springs back in and get some drop spindles.

I agree with the stock springs and spindles. Dropped mine with 2.5 in western chassis spindles and rides like stock.
