NJ wtb dana 44 front drum parts

HELP I NEED AXLES NOW MY TRUCK IS APART AT WORK AND MY BOSS IS GOING CRAZY. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT HAS HELPED BUT UNFORTUNETLY WE ARE STILL OUT OF LUCK. CHECK YOUR TUBE NUMBERS THEY ARE A SERIES OF SMALL NUMBERS PUNCHED INTO THE LONGER TUBE NEAR THE PUMPKIN. LOOK AT UNCLES POST BELOW TO SEE WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE.

I am in serious need of a set of dana 44 axles out of a drum brake unit. disc axles are too long. I have my axle at my axle guys shop and he said I need new shafts as mine have really deep grooves from the seals.

the measurements are

17-1/2 & 35-1/8 30 spline - that's from the center of the u joint to the end of the shaft on the inner shafts

9-7/8 19 spline outer shaft

Approx. diameter 1-1/4

all measurements are give or take a 16th of an inch.

any help would be great I know that there is some one out there that has one headed for the scrapper.

Try calling D&D truck parts out in Bellport, They might have one, I know most junkyards don't keep alot of the old stuff anymore. Can your axle shafts be sleeved where the seal is?, I'll keep my eye out for ya.

I really don't want the drum to begin with but I already have all he seals and bearings for it and they were not cheap so I figured lets just do a quick simple rebuild and the axle is good for easily another hundred thousand. so at this point I just want a used set of axles to get it back on the road

The set I have are also too long, they were out of a disc brake front, sorry, no help.

So it needs to be a drum front. 69-70? Will check when home. Think I have a 70 front.

not really. pull the drum take off the 6 hub bolts and pull out the wheel bearings and crap. then unbolt the backing plate and spindle bolts and axle will pull right out. should have both axles out in half hour especially if you don't care about the drum stuff.

hey uncle if you have a 1970 open knuckle drum dana 44 that is what I have so hopefully those are the axles.

MUST BE 6 LUG

yea but you know what lets try something so you don't have to tear it apart to see if its the right one. I am pretty sure its on the longer tube. there should be some small numbers punched onto the tube if those match then we know we have a winner. I will get my numbers from my axle guy in the morning. if these are the ones and they don't have grooves what do you want for the pair of shafts???

my numbers are different I think mine is a 69 axle in my 70 jimmy so I don't think the numbers mean **** but a date code. any ways I still think these are the ones. can you pull the shafts and measure just to be sure and lets hope there aren't any huge grooves.

I'm in NH and have a complete front end out of a 70, 44 drum brake set-up, with 3.73's.

hey can you get me the tube numbers off of yours. my axle guy keep saying they have something to do with this ****

Sorry mine are too long. Outers same but innerspring too long. Must have changed 4x4 housing in 70 just like 2wd. If u want some of other parts let me know. If u can get both axles out in 30 u need to open a shop.

67-69 should be a closed knuckle front end and the 70 is the only open knuckle drum brake front ends that I know of. WES

TTT hey someone out there has to have one of these I am desperate I need the right size axles two weeks ago someone help me out. all you guys cutting up a truck a week let me make you some money on the **** that would be headed to the scrapper

No way if I am going too sepnd the money for mosers then I might as well go do the disc upgrade. The truck is a work truck and won't be seening any special treatment any time soon if I know my brother
