53 grille on a 54
Has anyone made this swap.... I like the single windshield in the 54 and the grille in the 53. I was curious what parts I need to change out to achieve this and what is gonna be interchangeable.

The fenders and inner fenders are different. You'd have to at least change the fenders, I think the inner fenders could be modded to work.

You also need the pan under the grille and the braces. |

Re: 53 grille on a 54
Ok I was thinking all that would really need changed is fenders which I don't mind cause I needed to buy new ones anyway. I figured the Inner fender would work as well with a little persuasion! I'm not exactly sure what I want to do with the the good yet. I like the hoods with and without the emblem... I may end up just using the center trim painted without the emblem.

Re: 53 grille on a 54
You would have swap to 53 or earlier fenders as the grill openings in the 54 fenders have round inner corners at the top while the 47/53 fenders have a square inner corner to match the grill.
A borrowed photo of a nice looking 53 pickup fender. Here are a pair of 54 fenders (not mine) It's pretty easy to see the differences in the fenders. The hood fits the earlier grill fine though.

I think the 54 fenders also have a small recess where the grille wraps too... I should know this seeing as how mine it a 54... I haven't looked at the front fenders I a while though

Re: 53 grille on a 54
Yep, I had a GMC fender that I thought was a 54 fender until I bought a 54 fender along with the yellow hood at an auction. The indentation is for the park light.
