Lowering a 99 Suburban question
Got a 99 Suburban that I put in a 6' flip kit from McGuaghy's suspension, I put it on, also got lower shocks, before I ordered the short shocks I left the stock ones on, I called Styling trucks they recommended me Belltech lowering shocks and now it rides even worse then the stock shocks, does this need to be C notched ?

Re: Lowering a 99 Suburban question
Check and make sure that the shocks are not bottoming out. I had Bell Tech drop shocks on my 99' crew and the drivers side was too long. It was bottomed out when just sitting, the suspension wasn't even compressed.

Re: Lowering a 99 Suburban question
Define "rides worse". Stiffer? Softer? Bottoms out? Bounces too much?
Rides worse is a subjective thing. I personally like a stiffer ride, less bounce. I hate my Moms Trailblazer. It bounces over even just speed bumps. She hates my GTA because over speed bumps it bounces ONCE then stop.

Re: Lowering a 99 Suburban question
Like the stock ones then? Bouncy bouncy bouncy not bottoming out or stiff & lack of cushion?

Re: Lowering a 99 Suburban question
Bottoms out.. specially with the lowered shocks.. Would the shock extensions help ? or do I need to C notch it... ? What about if I took out the bump stops ?

Re: Lowering a 99 Suburban question
You definitely need to take out the bumpstops and most likely notch it. I f I remember correctly the a le tune was very close to the frame on mine. The notches come with new bumpstops.

Re: Lowering a 99 Suburban question
My flip kit was from McGaughy's and it came with the notch. I would think they sell them separately as well.

Re: Lowering a 99 Suburban question
I think first you need to identify what exactly is bottoming out. The axle on the bumpstops or the shocks. If the shocks are too long you can order different ones. If it's the axle on the bumpstops then you know what to do. You may need both.
