Rebel Angel Build : 69 CST

Hey Yall,

As some of yall may know i picked up a 69' CST Ps,A/C truck yesterday ive made alot of progress on the tear down so far, Sad to say the cab has to go it is one hell of a JB welded mess im Gonna be using my 71' Custom 10 as a Donor. I Know it wont be a True CST without the original cab but this is the route im going. So far i got the front clip and the cab off , I Literally tackled it (Im a Sixman FootBall Player , Lineman for the Gordon Longhorns) Im gonna clean up the frame a bit then im pulling my 350/350 out of my 71 and dropping it in. then the cab will go on im lowering the front 3 inches and im mounting the engine back 4 inches for better weight distribution I Have a 3 day weekend so i should get pretty far. Also gonna convert it to 5 lug disc !

A Few pics

Yester day when i got it

Todays Progress

I Know some of yall may be a little bit upset over my Truck abuse to the cab an for that im sorry

im thinking of pulling the ac dash out to use ...aint decided yet , But i really can lose on this build i mena so far im 175 $ in it . Id love to leave the patina the fenders an bed have but my 71' cab and hood are primered so im going with a metal flake cool blue or a ddark metal flake green with a off white metal flake center stripe down the sides. Thats awesome. Heres a picture of my current smoker that I built. Its not going to win any awards for style, but it sure works well. Its a 300 gallon, reverse flow, with an oven that is a (close) copy of a Lang 84" Deluxe model. (Except it cost about 5% of the price of a Lang to build) I just do events for family, friends, work and church. Never done any competitions before mostly because there arent any around here that I know of. Anyway, I'd love to see more pics of your smokers, I have built a few for others and am always looking to steal someone elses ideas

BTW cant think of a better rig to pull a smoker than a 67-72
