I was offered 5 grand today.......but I actually turned it down.....I actually have some big plans and want to stick to it......I'm married and have to have something to do outside because pulling weeds isn't my thing and neither is watching my wife sew all damn day......but it was temping.....but I htought where else was I going to find a rust free 72 GMC Sierra Grande with the Deluxe package? that is literally only a few months away from reconstruction and customization???......the 5 grand would have cost me a hobby, fun, excitment, and pure satisfaction......But I know I'm not alone.....who else out there has people nagging them about their truck.....everyone wants to buy my truck everywhere I go because of the model and package it came with......but never 5 thousand dollars has ever been offered on the spot.......this was real considering the last guy wanted to give me his inboard skiboat for it. Our trucks are the most sought after vehicle to hotrod. Even more than most of the large muscle cars from the same era. Trucking had a acrticle about this over a year ago and now I'm starting to believe it. I bought this truck 6 years ago for 1200 and I know the previous owner didn't like it once it was gone.

I bought my ex 67 swb for 200.00 had it for 10 years . Sold it 3 years ago and i have been kicking myself ever since .

I have. (sold it and regretted it) Matter of fact I sold it about 6 hours ago.

The lady seems to think my 72 C10 2WD Fleetside was worth $6400. Wish I would have known that a few years ago. LOL. Full coverage, big hill, flames, insurance money, booyah. j/k If you have the room, keep the truck.

Yeah, I made that mistake before, sold a 72 Jimmy that my dad gave me; it was rusty, but A-1 mechanically, that was about 8 years ago, and I am a little wiser now-so I won't be selling my 69 anytime soon. Live and learn.

I bought a 3 owner 70 CST in 1998. The 1st owner sold it to an elderly gentleman in 1975. It was garage kept from 1975 to 1997. The 3rd owner had it for less than a year, but had the A/C system rebuilt. I bought it in 1998. This truck was a daily driver, but all original. Small rust patch on front of right fender and minor cancer on lower doors.

I rebuilt or replaced almost everything on this truck with stock parts to keep it original, including a 350 crate motor. Original quadrajet, breather, hubcaps, etc..the only major things left were to get it painted and replace the carpet..then I got Jeep fever and sold it in 2000.

The problem was-the guy I sold it to worked 3 blocks from where I worked, so I had to look at it every day for 3 years. He has done nothing to it, so its still looks all original.

The Jeep fever finally wore off and I found my '72 this past January...I have learned from my mistake!

I get guys offering to buy my truck at the local cruise often..a guy actually offered $5,500 cash but I turned him down..I mean no matter what shape its in, a truck is a truck. It holds that certain special meaning to each and everyone of us. Besides, what else would I spend all my extra money on?

I bought the ole truck from my next door neighbor back in ’93
for $300.00 and a Oldsmobile Firenza, so that makes the total
investment around 400.00! I would see this truck sitting out there everyday
collecting more and more rust, it was basically sitting there doing
nothing. Finally one day while talking with the neighbor, I mentioned my
need for a “Older” truck… 2 hours later It’s mine! I fixed this and
that on it, rebuilt the engine, put the automatic back and drove it for
about 3 years when I was approached by a friend of the family. He was in
need of a truck and offered me $3,000.00 for it. Of course I jumped at
the offer thinking I didn’t need the truck anymore since I didn’t drive
it much. WRONG! I really missed having that truck around so I kept
watch on it for the next 8 months. I found out the person I sold it to
couldn’t afford the gas mileage and let it sit in his driveway for 3
months. So, I call the guy and ask if he would consider trading the truck
for a economical car? He couldn’t say YES fast enough

. I drove a 85
Pontiac 6000(which I had $350.00 in) to him and traded right there on
the spot.

I’ve never considered selling it since! She’s part of the family and
can’t be bought, no matter what condition. The ’71 and I share the same
exact birthday (month/year) also.

i sold a 72 swb 10 years ago to buy my wife an engagement ring. we're still happily married, so i guess it was worth it. i don't regret it, but i sure wish i still had it. to the guy who bought my truck: i want it back! anyway, i've got a 72 suburban now and all is well in the world.

When I was 18 I bought this old wrecked (front end) 72 GMC. It had factory air and tilt and I only paid $250 for the whole truck. I robbed the truck of the tilt and air for my 71 and then let the rest go for free....

Well, looking back at some photos I took I see that I had myself a Longhorn with a 402BB. It had some rust, but all it really would have needed was a front clip. Geez, what a dummy I was....

Jose, what wheels are those on your truck? I've been looking at the American Racing AR-767's (black nascar truck wheels) but like yours better. I got a 70 SWB C10 getting painted now all black.

Had a 1968 fleetside shortbox that I fixed up and later sold when I was around 18. I still regret selling that truck. More regret though as it was my first truck that I had and it was the first truck that I had rebuilt. The trucks I got now it wouldnt bother me to sell as I bought them with the intention of fixing and selling.

I sold a beautiful blue and white '72 Chevy for like $800. It was my only transportation at the time and the motor froze. Sold it to my mechanic....((he's probably still laughing). Thats the one that got away.....or rather that I gave away.

i sold the old fyb (freakin yellow *****) from the name you can understand why, that truck fought everything i did. i had never seen such a thing. good riddens!

i havent got any offers on my longhorn. probably cuz most people dont like the long long long bed...?? not sure. i rarely even get a compliment..?? oh well...

i guess everything has a price though. i dont think there is a truck on this board that isnt for sale! some would just talk lots of money. i mean if someone offerd 30k for your truck,, how many of us would sell.... 90% i bet. hell id sell my girl friend for 30k! lmao.. just kidding and dont tell her i said that!

69 GMC Custom Camper LongHorn. Dad gave it to me when I was 17. I can hardly believe I let it go for a 73 Impala because my girlfreind and my buddies thought the truck was uncool. The Impala quickly made way for a 71 Chevelle that I did a clone SS 454 job on. I miss that one too.

I sold my first Blazer - 72 CST to buy a '94 Mustang GT convertable. It was a fun car, but spent most of its time in the shop under warranty issues. Now, I wish I still had that Blazer. It was a little nicer than my current '69.

Purchased this truck when I was 17. I started the rebuild (or take apart) in 1993. I have drug it around all over the country in pieces. Finally back on the road in 2021. "I can't complain, but sometimes I still do. Life's been good to me so far."
