Re: No trim around brake lights?

Guessing at least a third of the trucks were built without the tail lamp and tail gate molddings. It was an option either with a bodyside molding package or with a trim package. Base trucks were pretty naked. Here is a nicely done ride without moldings.

Re: No trim around brake lights?

It belongs to jhwkns. Might try doing a search of his posts and see where more are. But here is a thread with another great picture.

Re: No trim around brake lights?

Mine looks just like that except not painted and with lots of chips and dents.

But the point is, it never had the moldings from original.

Re: No trim around brake lights?

my 70 is a no molding truck... I plan to keep it that way at this point, except maybe wheel arch trim which is not factory anyway.

Re: No trim around brake lights?

My 69 has no trim as well. I think it's a cleaner look. The stock taillights and backup lights do need to be massaged to fit in the hole evenly and cleanly on mine though. It's a good look for these trucks, but I'd take a fully trimmed truck as well!

Re: No trim around brake lights?

Funny- Just noticed this the other day. My 70 4x4 was a fire trail truck in Cali and it has no trim at all. The tail lights is where I thought they would put some but no. Only cause it was sitting next o my CST Blazer did I notice. Dummy I am!

Re: No trim around brake lights?

We visited this subject last year and seem pretty much in agreement that tail molddings without any bedside moldings looks pretty good. Lots of pictures and thought there.
If I remeber correctly your truck is a full trim truck. Are you thinking of filling all the holes until/if you decide to re-trim the truck? You should not have too much trouble piecing together a full set if that is what you desire.

Re: No trim around brake lights?

When I was building my truuck I planned on installing them so bought a new set. After carefull consideration of my overall design I decided not to. Still have them but will probably add to the list of items to sell.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
