This my new project 1971 C10. I removed the roof panel and will be replacing but I have no idea what to do with the sides over the doors. Passenger side is worse than the drivers. I believe I can repair the driver side my self for the most part but the passenger side is gone. The rest of the cab believe it or not is in pretty darn good shape. I don't want to replace the entire cab just for these two areas. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Theres alot of cabs out there that have a solid roof area but are junk down low. Find one of those and swap the whole roof to yours. Seems to be a common repair to do it this way, I'm not sure where most people perform the splice though.

I've been looking but here in south Louisiana a good one is hard to come by. If any one know where I can drive to pick up one I would give it a try.

There is no other rust spots on this cab. I don't want to replace a solid pice if I don't have to any other options would be welcomed.

Factory splices are at the top of the a pillar (windshield posts) and you should be able to see the seam on the b pillars (where you split you roof). I agree with Vintage Windmills, split the roof and replace it. You will find it is alot less work then trying to replace all the individual parts. Something to remember about rust repair, any spot that is rusted through, has metal that has been weakened at least twice the diameter or the rusted through area.

If you choose to replace the roof panel, hit everything hidden (and solid) with a high zinc, weld through primer. If you do this before assembly, you should not see additional rot in the next 40 years!! good luck

I am in need of this section passenger side cab. Mine was just to rusted to save. Any ideas where I could find a old cab that can be parted to cut out that section. Any help is needed.

Put Dynamat or sim product while the top is off.
