My new to me 66 stepside

Hey everyone! I just bought this 66 stepside last month. So far I have found a lot of great info on this site!! I have been cleaning up some things that i was not fond of but overall I feel like this is a good starting point for me. I am in Tempe for work and decided I wanted to find a low rust 60-66 stepside before I went back to the Philadelphia area later this year. After looking for 3-4 months I found this one.

It will be going in the shop(since I don't have any tools with me) this week to get power steering and the rear raised back up. The previous owner had air shocks on it and had the rear dropped way too low. I'm a fan of the hot rod rake with the rear up higher.

It also has a 383ci V8, 700R4 trans and 3.73 rear. Doesn't feel as strong as I think it should so I am going to look into that when I get it back home.

Wow! What a cool truck. I'm also a fan of the rear up a bit higher. Welcome to the forum, looking forward to more photos and updates as they happen. Enjoy your new ride!

Fine looking truck!

Drop the front to match the rear = win!

Nice truck.

Is there a place that sells aftermarket hoods for these trucks? I see the one on your truck and there are a couple local trucks I seen on craigslist with cowl induction hoods.

I cant even seem to find a stock hood for mine.

Re: My new to me 66 stepside

Thanks everyone!

JWheeler331 - The previous owner just cut a whole in the original hood and had the cowl installed on it. When I get the truck back home I will start looking for a hood. I can not find replacement hoods online either. Every other body style but the 60-66 are online.. I found some used ones on craigslist though.
