Vacuum gauge hook up

1964 I6 230 short stepper. I am going to hook up a vacuum gauge in my dash. Does anyone have a picture of how they installed the line on the engine (inline 6).
Thanks Larry

Re: Vacuum gauge hook up

My factory vacuum guage line comes off the manifold. There is a "t" on the exhaust manifold. The other line goes to the PCV. If you didn't have a factory guage, there will be a "90" fitting. Carefully unthread it and install a "t". The "t" fittings are available at all car shops.

Re: Vacuum gauge hook up

Wouldn't that "T" be in the intake manifold, not the exhaust?

Re: Vacuum gauge hook up

If you look on the intake, facing the inner fender, there's a 1/4" pipe plug on the vertical face mid way between the carb and exhaust manifold. That is the original location for the manifold that would have been installed for attaching the vacuum associated mechanical systems. A hard line would attach to the vacuum gauge exiting the cab through the grommet beside the choke cable down to the vacuum manifold.
