Re: EbAy FinD.........oh yeah!

It is a sweet truck, it has been on here before. It's been for sale for a while, posted on ebay and didn't sell for 15,700, and also craigslist. It was listed as a one family owned barn find with no rust....but it says its been painted, and now says rockers and cab corners solid with no apparent rust. The pics show the interior was repainted as well, the emblem above the ignition switch was painted over and you can see overspray on the ac/heat duct tube, which is not original duct work. I don't understand why a 79k truck would need a total inside and out paint job, and wonder about the quality of the job based on a few things I see.

That being said, I would love to have it, just think it is too pricy for what is there. What does anybody else think it is worth?

Mint68 Good eye on the paint over on the ignition switch and overspray. Things aren't alway what they seem.. for sure.

Re: EbAy FinD.........oh yeah!

Hopefully nobody thinks I'm bashing the truck, cause its a really nice truck. But the owner is looking for over 18k for an "original" that has been painted at sometime and somehow, and nothing else. Just seems like 17k could get you more tuck. With nothing done to the motor, suspension, or undercarriage, there is still a lot to do with such a high buy in.

I have seen this truck, it is really nice. I don't think it's priced to high. Just my opinion.

Re: EbAy FinD.........oh yeah!

Thanks for this post. I can now show it to my wife to get her off my back, proving that I absolutely stole my latest purchase!

She was sad when I sold my '72 shorty, but not excited when I bought this '71. <shrug>

I spoke with him before when it was listed on ebay, I think he means 8 out of 10 in terms of the quality of the paint job. He told me the paint was older, not recently done.
