Has anybody ever seen an enclosure like this?

I ran across this on the old interweb and was wondering if anybody knew where this came from. I think it's on a square judging by the shape of the cab mounts just in front of the bed that match my square body pickup bed trailer. The enclosure looks homemade but it's incredibly heavy duty and straight. Is this off an older truck than what it's on now? Are they rare? Please help. Is this a good deal at $350 OBO? Here are some pics.

longbed stepside, home made enclosure, if the truck really was a big 10 longbed stepper i would say it was pretty rare, too bad someone cut it in half!

Do you guys think I should buy it? I'm definitely considering it. I may pull the trigger if I can line up a buyer beforehand. What do you guys (or girls) think?

If it was closer to me I would buy it to pull behind one of my old trucks, painted the same scheme as the truck of course.

Re: Has anybody ever seen an enclosure like this?

I got in touch with the owner and he said he would put one "new" tire on it and part with it for $250. He says that the box is homemade with sheet metal and a frame made out of 2x2s, but he has had it for 6 years and it has been through many storms without leaking. Do you guys think I should get it?
