4 speed with granny low to automatic
Thinking of changing my 65 c20 with 4.56 gears and granny 4 speed to an auto. Which is better and easier? 700 r4 or 200 4r?

Also wondering if a TH350 might be better, although there is no OD. I really want this truck to be more civilized on the highway.

Re: 4 speed with granny low to automatic
What about 4.10 gears? TH350/TH400 will only spin faster, as it never locks up, always slipping. I am not a very big fan of the R4's and 4L60's.
Personally, I think the 4.10's are fine. With the tall (33.5") tires on my truck, 60MPH is only 2,500RPM. With a modern radial 235/85R16, it will be about 2,700RPM at the same. Also, you might consider an NV4500 five speed manual. |
