Newbie from Houston, TX

I have an 85 gmc swb pickup. I had had it now for maybe 2 years. Leaving work one day a woman hit me head on in my corolla and totaled my car. She put her car in reverse and took off never to be found again. Insurance sent me some money and that is when I bought "Blue Belle". My grandfather had a truck similar to mine when I was a kid and I could remember the sound and smell of the truck and when I found this truck I had to buy it. I really had no knowledge of anything engine/truck related. I knew how to change my oil and brakes and that was about it. Since buying my truck I have pulled the engine, cleaned it up, replaced the harmonic balancer, new engine mounts, new alternator, front and rear seals, oil pan gasket, new headers, new valve covers, and other misc. things. I love my truck and still have alot to learn. I am really thankful for forums like this to help me with questions I have about my truck. Since finding this site I have convinced myself to do a LS swap. It really has encouraged me to know that I could do this by myself.
