Does anyone know where I can get the tailgate band woodgrain tape ?
Truck Shop OC is out and says it is on hold/backorder until August.
I looked at Home Depot for woodgrain shelf paper (mentioned in previous thread) but did not see anything close. If anyone has one of these for sale I will buy it.
Also open to ideas for other sources & solutions. This is not for a show truck, just trying to fix up an old t.g. band for cheap. Thanks

member VA72C10 had a repro roll of it the last time I talked to him (enough for a whole truck I think) But he's going to be proud of it. ..

Quick question though...are you re-using your existing letters? I've found many guys purchase the tape and letters and end up having almost as much in them (and a lot more time) as a new reproduction band...

Black was painted on the trim. You should be able to get the woodgrain tape for the tailgate band for around $15-$20 from any big vendor, not just the truck shop. I assume (OP) that you are reusing your existing chrome letters...otherwise you might be better off buying a complete new repop tailgate band as Jonathan stated. The truck shop does have those in stock (I was just in there the other day) and they sell for $139 and are very nice.

Yes, re-using old letters, I put new letters on my 72 and am using those old ones to refurbish this tailgate band. I'm just saving an old tailgate band I bought for $15 to play/practice with. I cleaned it up with oven cleaner and polished it, looks pretty good. Going to use it for wall art unless I know someone who needs it more than I do.

Hooverfish, I do have 3 of them in stock, however they are old(prob 10 years) and in some places the paper has come loose off of the back of the woodgrain tape so not sure if it is still sticky. If interested in one they are free just pay $5.25 for shipping by Post office. can take paypal at atheystruck@comcast.net

I have seen the bands refurbished with black trim tape and It was very nice. don't know what kinda tape it was but it does exist. I just have not found it yet.
