1970 C10 leafspring 3.5/5 drop
So I want to lower (3.5/5 drop) my 70 C10 stepside just like 68StepBed's blue C10. The front is easy enough 2 1/2 in drop spindles with 1 inch drop springs. I need some advice for the rear. What would be the best way to get a 5 inch drop in the rear? A flip kit? I have 275/60/15s all around
Here are some pics: Front: Rear: |

Best way is to get lowered springs but some places can re-form (de arc?) the spring to lower the vehicle. Tx firefighter, I believe, either does it or knows how.

I plan to use ECE drop leafs and shackles.... for a 5 1/2" drop. You could probably find some 1" drop shackles somewhere...

I was also wondering if those are stock shackles and leaf springs on my truck? Didn't all leaf springs come with the overload spring?

Re: 1970 C10 leafspring 3.5/5 drop
My 68 half ton short bed had 8 leaves. I think the farmer/rancher that owned it ordered it like that. I took 3 or 4 off the bottom but left the short bottom helper/overload spring on. I believe it lowered it about 3 inches. Still could use more but for now it's okay.
