1994 Silverado Build!
This is my 1994 Silverado. When me and my dad went to go look at this truck the owner said that the transmission was going out. We bought it and brought it home and we looked at the transmission. Turns out there was no transmission fluid in it. We filled the tranny up with fluid and now it runs like a champ. Luckily we didn't burn up the tranny drivng it home. The truck has a 350 with the 4l60e transmission. The truck is well equipped. I'm only 14 so my dad will be helping me along the way.

Re: 1994 Silverado Build!
Picked up some 15x8 rally wheels. My dad is taking them to work tomorrow to get sandblasted so I can paint them. Probably gonna go with argent silver for the rally wheels. I also polished up the center caps, and I only got 3 of the 4 beauty rings which that kinda sucks.

Re: 1994 Silverado Build!
Good looking truck, I bet you got a pretty good deal with the suspect tranny. I would think about a little color on those wheels, maybe body color or the accent color.

Re: 1994 Silverado Build!
Yeah we did get a pretty good deal on this truck. I was thinking about painting them the darker brown that's on the truck but i don't know how it will look. If anyone can Photoshop my truck with brown rally wheels that would be awesome.

Re: 1994 Silverado Build!
Very nice truck, especially for your first truck. I had a '92 that was similar to that when I first got it, not paint-wise, but looks. Fiberglass running boards, and the aluminum wheels. Don't blame you on wanting to go to the ralleys; they look good cleaned up. I wanted to run a set, but I never had a full set to clean up and run, plus I have since converted mine to a 4x4. Very nice truck though! Curious to see what'cha do with it. Any future plans other than the wheel swap?

Re: 1994 Silverado Build!
Wheels look nice. Obviously I took my running boards off as well. I couldn't stand them. I honestly don't think the paintjob looks too bad. Would look nice a little lower though, I do agree. And 4x4 does wonders when you're in a bind somewhere lol, although mine isn't completely hooked up yet. Still have some things to do before it's back on the road. My thing was, I had an '88 4x4, and my '92 2WD. The engine in the '88 went so I lost the 4x4, and the frame was bent on my '92. So, I got a whole new 4x4 frame, and went from there. A lot of work, but I got it together.
From what I can see the interior looks very clean; a lot better than mine at the moment But, good luck on the project. You only live a couple hours from me so maybe when ya' get your license we could go cruisin'.

Re: 1994 Silverado Build!
Good to hear you ditched the running boards. I didn't want to say anything in case you liked them but all I could think of is looks like a conversion van with them.

Re: 1994 Silverado Build!
I wasn't, but I know a lot of people that were. I live about 45 miles from Joplin and go there regularly. The pictures that are all around the internet, don't do it justice. So much worse than what you can see in pics. They're still rebuilding, and it's definitely getting there. It looks so much better now. Hard to believe it's been two years since the tornado.

Re: 1994 Silverado Build!
Got the rally wheels mounted and gave it a bath. I cleaned out the inside too. Still haven't been able to take those ugly running boards off.

Re: 1994 Silverado Build!
Truck looks great and I have always been a fan of painted wheels and stainless trim. Soap and water cleanup beats polishing alloy wheels. I can't believe how nice the interior looks, usually the light colors get ruined in trucks.

Re: 1994 Silverado Build!
Looks good with the rallies. Even better with them Cooper Cobra's on the front But I'm a little biased; that's what I ran on the front of my 2WD lol. It'll look better once those running boards come off.

Thanks, the previous owners did a heck of a job keeping the interior nice and clean.

x2, that's what I did with mine. For some reason that I've yet to figure out, people actually like them.
