Loosing Chinese Rally hub cab
Theses PoS rally derby cab are getting loose. First I lost one. Then went to ck the others and they are getting loose. The ring where they snap on are showing sign of bending. Cheap made Chinese. After doing some research I find they are all made byChinese or Taiwan at 50-70 $$$ each and that's a GM licensed Repoduction unit. Looking for ideas. For something more secure. Thinking of just going with chome lug nuts. Or a lower profile hubcab. I like the derby cap but at $50 a pop...... Nut so much. Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Loosing Chinese Rally hub cab
you could line the rim (where the spring clips rest) with some of the foam tape. that would give the clips a smaller diameter area to rest on. $50 is not so bad. My center caps are discontinued and the only guy selling them wants $200 each! If I loose one, I'm buying new rims!

Re: Loosing Chinese Rally hub cab
Mine were loose too. I ran a couple of turns of electrical tape around the edge on the hub cap where it fits into the wheel. Now it takes a real hard tug to get them off.

Re: Loosing Chinese Rally hub cab
We used to wrap loose factory deby caps with duck tape around where they mounted to the wheel.

Re: Loosing Chinese Rally hub cab
i also have used either foam tape or even gaffers(duck) tape to hold wheel caps in place - ya just gotta futz with it until you are happy with how tight you want it

3 out of 5 caps were bent out of the box where they mount to the wheel wheels vintiques did not want to warranty them, cheap product and terrible customer service luckily i was able to bend the flange back by hand, 4 hands to be exact i have to be very careful installing them, no smacking with the hand or the flange will bend

Re: Loosing Chinese Rally hub cab
I tried to order a replacement cap from WV online. After a week of no communication from WV. I called.
Press 3 for customer service. The idiot that answered the phone couldn't find my order number I gave him. He said he would call me back. After 4 days I call again. They still couldn't find my online order. I said Cancel my order. 2 days later I get an email , they found my order. Told them forget it! Wheels Vintiques has awful Customer service. Just google " customer Service wheels Vintiques " I should have done that first. I have NO problem with Dave's Rally wheels. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Loosing Chinese Rally hub cab
I hate to hear about this, I've decided to use the Chevy rally wheels on my '53. I would like to use the 2" wide trim rings and police caps, and I've talked with Summit Racing as they sell what I need at a good price. They tell me that they are not sure, but they believe they are from Wheel Vintiques, but Summit would guarantee them as they sell them. I've heard more that once about bad CS from WV. The way that businesses do business, if I have an issue with a product, I take up that issue with the person who sells the product, not the manufacturer. When I was setting up my rear suspension, I bought a rear spring/shock kit from a local speed shop, but it was made by Chassis Engineering, and was to be dropped shipped from them to me. After 3 months of waiting for my parts, I told the speed shop that I needed my money returned (because I paid them, not CS), thats when things got moving, and within a week i got my parts.
