Help please...
I've been doing a bunch of different searches on here and other forums and I can't make any forward progress....So hopefully someone can help me out...
Does anybody know where/who to find a core support to frame mounting bracket? (you know, the one that's riveted to the frame.) I looked on Classic Industries, Brother's, LMC. With no luck, everybody has body bushings and cab mount brackets, but no core support brackets... Although I did manage to find a pair of NOS 73-80 Frame brackets on Ebay, but none for 81-87. (my truck is a '82) Anybody? Even if you have a bracket still riveted on a spare frame... All the salvage yards want to sell me the entire frame...Unless I'm just not talking to the right people... Any help is greatly appreciated. Kris

Re: Help please...
Go to a pic-a-part (self serv) yard and cut one yourself.
Those places don't give a crap what you take as long as they get paid. Take a cordless sawsall. Cut the end of the frame off and grind the rivets when you get home. Your truck looks great....but.......... you need to shorten it dude. Your friends will thank you... and the whole world will be a much better place for us all. If you don't know how just ask. We will help you Longbeds are only cool work trucks. Period.

Re: Help please...
Perfect. That's what I thought it would come down to. Thanks, Wraprail!
A couple years ago, I could of sworn I saw the bracket in a LMC catalog as like a "NEW" added item for like a "limited time" only. But I think I was seeing the cab mount bracket instead... Hmm.

Re: Help please...
Well it's a very long story, but mine is slightly bent backwards. A guy pulled out in front of me leaving work one night and of course I end up skidding into the back of him. I've fixed the truck cosmetically since then. I bought an aftermarket core support and fender and sorta straightened the old bracket. But the aftermarket stuff doesn't line up like I want it to. The frame bracket was "peeled" during impact, revealing like a 3/16" gap between the flat part of frame where it meets the bracket...just enough to shear the first 2 front rivets off. I bent and heated it back up to fit when i was putting it back together a couple years ago, but I'm going to paint the entire truck now. I was never really satisfied with it. So now I've rounded up an OEM fender and core support to get the lines back at the door to fender and hood to fender gaps. But now i just need the frame bracket...
Oh what a P.I.T.A.!
